Earlier this year, the Sam Moon Group, developers of Metropark Square, Shenandoah’s latest mixed-use development, kicked off a free monthly event series on its urban green, opposite the AMC Metropark Square cineplex. In January, they kicked off their season with a spirited performance of Houston Lion Kings to kick-off the Chinese New Year, which was followed by a Valentine’s-themed dog adoption event in February. Programming is scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month, with the goal of providing family-friendly activities to be enjoyed by those in the North Houston area.
For their March event, Metropark Square is partnering with YogaWorks of the Woodlands and Main Squeeze Juice Co., for a free beginner-friendly yoga class with free samples of fresh-pressed juice and smoothies. Class participants should bring their own mats and wear their best green, and should plan on arriving at 10 am. From 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, Celtic music lovers will be able to enjoy a performance by the Wylde Meade ensemble, and while that performance is going on, local stores will provide snacks and activities for children, including a Little Leprechauns Activity Table provided by Aqua-Tots Swim Schools. Attendees can pick up a "passport" and visit other vendors to get their Shamrock stamps. Those who complete their passports and turn them in will be registered in a drawing to win AMC movie tickets or Dave & Buster’s Power Cards. Other participating Metropark Square vendors include, AMC Theatres, Aqua-Tots, Black Bear Diner, BurgerIM, Dave & Buster’s, EAD Vietnamese Diner and Martinis & Manicures.
