Munch Munch Mochi Donut was started in Houston, Texas and makes delicious mochi donuts, which are also known as "Poi Mochi." They are a fusion pastry combining traditional American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. These delectable mochi donuts first became popular in Japan, with their pleasing aesthetic shape and eight small, round dough balls connecting together in the shape of a circle. They are made of rice flour which gives the donuts a wonderful chewy and stretchy texture, that is different from yeast or cake donuts. Their Asian style delights are freshly made every morning and are hand-dipped and topped with glazes, drizzles, and other unique toppings. Beyond the rotating donut flavors (think ube, matcha, strawberry, cookies-and-cream), they offer cream puffs, eclairs, and mille crêpe cakes; on the savory side, look for breakfast croissant sandwiches and kolaches to pair with milk teas, matcha lattes, and fizzy sodas.
