Vision Park
Shenandoah’s Vision Park, dedicated in Spring 2024, is the city’s newest community green space, centered around a scenic pond with three LED-lit fountains, a ½-mile walking and biking loop, benches, and a striking stone-and-steel bridge. On the park’s northwest side sits Veterans Point, a moving plaza honoring Shenandoah residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Dedicated on Veterans Day 2024, the plaza features memorial panels listing veterans’ names, lush landscaped beds, seating areas, and life-sized Corten steel soldier silhouettes positioned along the pathway. A unique overlook mimics a ship’s bow and sits beside a battlefield cross sculpture with views of the water. Ten illuminated flagpoles proudly display the U.S., Texas, City of Shenandoah, all six military branches, and POW/MIA flags. Each Veterans Day, the city plans to host ceremonies and update memorial names annually.
